Mission Better Tomorrow – World Is The Stage

Mission Better Tomorrow is a special purpose organisation committed to collaboratively building a peaceful, progressive and productive society. It has brought innovative ideas and amazing concepts from different minds on a single platform to evolve a workable model of social intervention. MBT, as the global arm of Nanma Foundation, has been making meaningful interventions through youth agencies like the Student Police Cadets, Our Responsibility to Children and HOPE towards changemaking.

Spreading Positive Spirit

A spell of doom has been cast over humankind. So, it is very important to maintain a proactive and positive mindset to repair the unprecedented damage caused to our social and economic life. With this specific target in view, Mission Better Tomorrow launched an online talk series named Pos-Poss Interactive Talk Series, through its online channels. Starting with talk by P. Vijayan, Inspector General of Police, more than 16 leading personalities and experts from various walks of life addressed the audience on Pos (Positivity) and Poss (Possibility) that these times offer. Most of the talks could reach over 1,60,000 people with an average of 25,000 views. In the second edition, titled Pos-Poss 2.0, held on every Friday, this series brought in experts handling varied manifestation of much wider spectrum of subjects and themes. Every session of Pos-Poss 2.0 is attended by 100 persons directly and many thousands through streaming channels of MBT in social media.

Travelling With The Stars

Another hugely engaging session organised during the lockdown period was direct interaction with two little celebrities. Shivani Menon, the chirpy super star of much popular television series ‘Uppum Mulakum’, and Achutan B. Nair, the award-winning actor of the film ‘Mamankam’, handled these sessions on alternate days, from 7 pm to 8 pm. Stories of exceptional and interesting work done by SPCs and ORC members from different parts of Kerala were selected and anchors called them up to chat about these, making it personal and special for all. The idea was to not just acknowledge the initiative by cadets and ORC volunteers for their home stay initiatives, which were posted under the hashtag campaign #BreakChainMakeChange, but also to encourage others to follow the suit. Each episode reached 250,000 people with 67,000 regular views.

Life Lessons For Long

Since the emerging and spread of the Corona virus in December 2019 among the population of Wuhan, the whole world is witnessing unprecedented crisis. Until now, the reported cases have crossed 5,000,000 and more than 330,000 people have lost their lives. No effective vaccine has been discovered till now and the only option available before mankind is to maintain personal hygiene and social distancing to arrest the spread of the virus. Learn to Live with Covid-19, the model set by India, especially Kerala, is catching international attention and this is helping towards evolving new civic ethics to adapt to the changing scenario. It is now clear that man has to learn ways to live with the virus and live safely. This new civic protocol in the making is at the core of the Learn to Live programme, which has been taken up by Mission Better Tomorrow.
